🍼 Measuring and prepping a baby bottle
Always follow the formula container’s exact water-to-powder instructions.
Gear You'll Need
- Clean sterilised bottle and teat
- Safe water
- Age-appropriate formula and its own scoop
Step-by-Step
1. Clean and measure
Use safe boiled water cooled according to New Zealand infant-feeding instructions and the product label. Do not substitute a foreign country’s preparation protocol without checking local advice.
2. Water first
Measure the specified water first, then add only the supplied level scoop in the exact ratio on that container. Do not equate a scoop with a universal volume. Use mL markings; 1 US fl oz is approximately 29.6 mL, not an exact 30 mL.
3. Serve and discard
Never microwave. Cool hot-prepared formula safely and check feeding temperature. Prepare fresh where possible and discard leftovers after feeding; follow the local authority and label for storage limits.
