🚨 Getting trained in infant & child first aid

In an emergency (choking, cardiac arrest, burns), panic takes the wheel and every single second counts. Skimming a cheat sheet or scrambling through a YouTube tutorial at 3 AM won't cut it: proper hands-on training makes all the difference. Get ahead of the game during pregnancy or in the early months.

What you'll learn in training

  • Choking: recognizing a complete airway obstruction and mastering back blows and chest thrusts.
  • Unresponsiveness: checking breathing, calling emergency services and learning when CPR or a recovery position is appropriate.
  • Respiratory & cardiac arrest: performing baby- and child-specific CPR (tailored rescue breaths and chest compressions).
  • Everyday household accidents: dealing with burns, nasty falls, sudden spikes in fever, and accidental poisonings.

  1. 1. Local guidance

Take an accredited local infant first-aid/CPR course. If baby cannot breathe, cry or cough effectively, call 111 and follow dispatcher instructions while providing trained choking first aid. If unresponsive, begin infant CPR as instructed. Do not use blind finger sweeps or give water. Suspected button-battery or multiple-magnet ingestion needs immediate emergency assessment even without symptoms.
