😴 Safe sleep for baby (SIDS prevention)
Back sleeping on a firm, flat, clear surface reduces sleep-related risk.
What to do
1. What to prepare
Put baby on their back for every sleep in their own cot or bassinet. Keep pillows, positioners, bumpers, soft toys and loose bedding away.
2. What to check
Keep the sleep space smoke-free and avoid overheating. Never sleep holding baby on a sofa or armchair; put baby down before you become drowsy.
